If you have the details of the vehicle that caused the accident, then you have 9 Months from the date of the accident to make a claim or 1 month after consulting with a Lawyer about the possibility of making a claim.

It is still possible to make a claim for a period of up to 3 years from the date of the accident if a reasonable excuse for delay is provided to the insurance company.

If the vehicle that caused the accident is unidentified, then a claim must be lodged within 9 months from the date of the accident. If the claim form is not lodged within 9 months from the date of the accident you will completely lose your right to make a claim.
